New Year!

It's been a few weeks since I last posted anything. I just haven't had much time to come on here. I actually wanted to write a post a few days ago, but didn't have time. Well, it's 2010 now and while 2009 wasn't the best year for me, it wasn't bad either. I'm hoping for 2010 to be a great year for me!

I wanted to post the day after Christmas and let everyone know what I got. My boyfriend got me a lot of stuff and of course I got tons of books and video games. And a few other things. When I have the chance I'll post a list of the books and video games I got for Christmas.

Well, this year I am going to focus on my writing and finishing my book series. I am determined to make it as an author and I want to make it happen this year. I am hoping to least get the first book in my book series published this year. I will make it happen and my book series will sell even more then Harry Potter :)

Hope everyone has a good New Year.

I Won a Goodreads Giveaway

Book Description:

"Young Elwood Pitch is only thirteen years old when he finds himself entrusted with a sacred mission to restore peace in the far-off world of Winnitok. The land's immortal protector, Granashon, has disappeared and her power that protects the land is fading fast. Elwood, his dog Slukee, and their newfound traveling companions, warrior Drallah Wehr and her talking raven Booj, set out on a dangerous quest to find the missing immortal. Elwood soon has a mysterious dream about the Eye of Ogin, an ancient turtle shell with the power to find Granashon. Elwood is determined to find the Eye, which was lost centuries before in the great swamp Migdowsh. The Great Swamp is riddled with quicksand, snakes, and monsters, but that does not deter the brave group. Along the way they must navigate an astonishing array of supernatural creatures–yugs, woogans, truans, graycloaks, and a terrible frog demon. Will they find the Eye and restore Granashon's divine power to the land? Will Elwood be able to handle the terrible truth the swamp reveals to him? Patrick Doud brings memorable characters, poetic language, and a driving narrative to this timeless tale that recalls classic epic adventure stories."

This is my 3rd time winning a book from goodreads and I'm excited to get it.

A Bit Annoyed

Sorry this is going to be a rant, but I'm annoyed about something. On my Xanga blog I write a new post there every day, I have quite a few friends on there and a lot of subscribers. I love Xanga, I love bloggin on there and I won't ever leave the site, but Xanga has like sister sites, I guess you could call them. These sister sites are all for different things, like fashion, food, dating, parenting, gaming and a few others. You can submit your posts to be featured on any of the sister sites, or you can go straight to Xanga and try and get your posts on the front page, I think both ways are cool, but I like being featured on the front page the best.
I've beeb featured on some of the sister sites, mostly the gaming one called the Hardestlevel, but I stopped submitting my posts to them. I did that because they kept changing the titles of my posts and rewriting or taking stuff away from my posts, which I didn't like. I haven't submitted any posts to the Hardestlevel in months and today I signed online to see the Hardestlevel asking my permission to feature my post about Nintendo Christmas Decorations. I didn't give them permission because I don't want my post being completely changed like they like to do.

Another thing Xanga has that I like is footprints, it allows you to see Xanga/users of sister sites that are viewing your blog and after I denied permission to my post, an editor from the Hardestlevel came to my site and took the pictures from my post and wrote a post similar to mine, but called it Gamer Christmas Decorations. They pretty much stole my post, but it has a bit different wording. Now I have editors from the Hardestlevel stalking my site all because I wouldn't give them permission to feature my post and then they stole it! What gives them any right at all to even do that? I took my time finding those pictures and writing that post only to have it stolen because they are upset that I wouldn't give them permission. This is why the main gaming site I go on is VGChartz. There are some users on VGChartz that aren't so nice, but the site is so much better then other video game sites and the Hardestlevel used to be good, it was a good gaming site with good posts and the people were nice, but a few months later they changed and are just like Gamefaqs, IGN and all those other gaming sites. I've really had enough of the Hardestlevel's crap and they better not steal any of my posts again.

My Christmas Book Wishlist

Dark Vengeance by Ed Greenwood is the sequel to Dark Warrior Rising and that is one of my favorite books. I've wanted Dark Vengeance since I first found out about it.

Hex by Arthur H. Lewis is about the murder of Nelson Rehmeyer in York County. I read this book a few months back, but I want to buy it. It is a good book, with lots of information about the trials and such. It's hard to find now though since it's out of print.

I also really want Revolutionary Girl Utena volumes 2 to 5 plus the movie manga. I love this manga series. I've only read volume 1 and 2 and the manga of the movie, but I recently bought volume one now I need the other ones. There really is a ton of books I want, but it would take so long to post all of them so this is what I'll post for now.

The Dragon Book

I am a member of the Science Fiction Book Club and a few days ago they sent me something in the mail. Every two or three weeks they send me something in the mail to let me know what sales are going on, what new books they have etc. There was one new book that really caught my eye. It's called The Dragon Book.

The Dragon Book is a collection of never before published short stories. It was edited by Jack Dan and Gardner Dozois and is over 400 pages long. It features story by such authors as: Tad Williams, Peter S. Beagle, Tamora Pierce, Garth Nix, Tanith Lee, Naomi Novik, Jane Yolen, Diana Wynne Jones and more.
I was already interested in the book because it has to do with dragons -- and I love dragons -- but when I read that one of the stories in the book is by Diana Wynne Jones that just sold me. Diana Wynne Jones is one of my favorite authors and any books with her stories, especially ones that are unpublished, I want to get. I don't know when I will be able to buy The Dragon Book, but hopefully I won't have to wait to long.

So excited for this week!

This week I am finally going to dye my hair blue. Since I was 15 I've been dying my hair red and for a few years now I've wanted to dye it blue, but really couldn't find a blue hair dye, but now I did and on thursday my hair is going to be dyed! I can't wait to see how it turns out.

On saturday my paranormal group is going to the Farmers Hope Inn which I am very excited about and cannot wait for! Still got a few days to wait though. I am still reading The Hunt for Atlantis by Andy McDermott and it is very good, but it's taking me awhile to read it. It's over 500 pages, but I'm been really tired lately. I delivered phone books for 3 days and it was a lot of work. I finally finished on Saturday and I was so happy. Anyway, that is what's going on with me right now. Will probably post something in a few days or so.

I Love This Time Of Year!

I was looking out at the trees in my backyard the other day and the leaves were all yellow, orange and redish brilliant beautiful colors. Sadly I didn't take any pictures though. I think the trees are beautiful when they change in Fall, the colors are absolutely amazing. I honestly love this time of year. I know it can get pretty cold out, but I don't know, I just find this time of year great. I don't like the cold to much. Watching the leaves change and watching it snow. I like snow as long as it's not to much because then I have to shovel out the cars and put salt on the sidewalks to make sure no one slips. But, even with those few things I still think Fall and Winter are both nice times of the year.

Maybe it's because of the holidays.

I've always loved the holidays and I look forward to them every year. Halloween and Christmas are my favorites. Halloween is over now and Christmas won't be to far away. I'm still buying christmas presents and I hope that I will get my shopping done soon. I'm actually going to start delivering phone books soon for some extra money so surely that will help out quite a bit. I know Christmas can be hard on people, with having to buy gifts and all, but for me it's really a magical time of year. It's not just about the gifts -- although they are nice to get! But, it's about giving people gifts and seeing their reaction, it's about the spirit of the holidays, being nice to one another and even trying to help others out if we can. If only people were nice all year long.

Anyway, I finally changed my layout on here. Halloween is over so I figured it would be best to change it. I also find out that Better World Books is having a sale. 4 books for $10 dollars. I might try to get some books while they are having the sale. Nothing really has been going on with me. Although I might try to go to the library soon and borrow some books, but that's really all right now.

Halloween

For Halloween I went to see Paranormal Activity with my boyfriend. I didn't have the money to buy a costume this year, but still wanted to do something. The movie was good, I really liked it. Although I didn't find it scary. It was suspenseful and more believable then other horror movies. Some of the people in the theater were getting kind of scared though. I read that a 2nd movie was already announced. I will probably see that when it comes out, but I hope it's good like the first one.

I was hoping to go to Rehmeyer's Hollow today but it's getting to late now. Maybe in a few weeks, hopefully. I would have love to gone to the Hollow on Halloween though. Anyway, I really wanted to do more today but at least I did a little something and next year I'm going to dress up.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Revolutionary Girl Utena Costume

I want this costume. On this website it costs $79.99, but I would love to dress up as Utena for Halloween. Although it's to late to even try this year. So, I think next year I'm going to try for this costume, but I don't think I'll buy it online. I'll just buy some red shorts and get a jacket and try to make the jacket like hers myself. I'll have to get a pink wig too.

To bad I can't dress up like Utena this year, but I'm really looking forward to next year now that I've decided my costume.
